Charter Boat Nearest to Williamsburg
York River Charters was voted “Best Fishing in Eastern Virginia” for three consecutive years! Most of our saltwater fishing charters originate on the scenic York River, a major tributary of the Chesapeake Bay minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, Kingsmill Resort, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and Great Wolf Lodge in VA.
As the Chesapeake Bay is known for it’s beauty and it’s bounty, we offer guests and residents sport fishing charters, as well as sightseeing boat tours and pleasure cruises. We are the only charter fishing boat contracted to dock at scenic Wormley Creek Marina in historic Yorktown, Virginia. This makes us the fishing charter located most near Williamsburg, VA! In addition, we dock in York River Yacht Haven at Gloucester Point, VA. This provides our guests access to departure points on both sides of the river! Our charters are also near Richmond, Newport News, Hampton, Virginia Beach and Washington D.C.
If you would prefer an intimate, personalized adventure on the waters of Tidewater and Hampton Roads for just your family or group, versus being lumped with 30 other people you don’t know, we invite you to take advantage of our personalized private charters.

Virginia Saltwater Sport Fishing
The charter boat Catchin’ Up II presents our guests the opportunity to have a truly customizable trip on the Chesapeake Bay of VA. For you, this may mean tailoring a saltwater fishing charter combining some bottom fishing for croaker, spot or flounder with an equal amount of time spent sport fishing by live baiting for mighty cobia or shark, or trolling for trophy rockfish (stripers, striped bass), bluefish or Spanish mackerel. You might enjoy harvesting fine table fare such as tautog (blackfish), spadefish or sheepshead from artificial reefs, wrecks and other structure. You may want to experience catching Chesapeake Bay blue crabs by several different methods, including some used by early Natives of the region. Some folks enjoy our sport fishing charters that target speckled trout, red drum (redfish) or salt water stripers (striped bass, rockfish) on light tackle by casting lures along the grass bottomed shoreline flats.
