Welcome to York River Charters®! Operating from the beautiful York River in Virginia, a major tributary of the Chesapeake Bay, Y.R.C.® offers it's clients their choice of fishing, sightseeing and pleasure cruise charters.
Experience all that our local waters have to offer from the well equipped Catchin' Up. She's a late model center console with state-of-the-art electronics that gives our Captain the ability to easily slip your party in to a secluded creek or tranquil flat, as well as safely dash you out into the deeper waters of the bay!
Our charters depart from Yorktown and Gloucester Point, Virginia, as well as other locations. The departure point is determined by what the customer's interests are and where concentrations of the targeted species of fish are located for fishing charters.

Y.R.C.'s® Catchin' Up presents our clients with the opportunity to have a truly personalized experience on the water. For you, this may mean tailoring a fishing charter combining some bottom fishing for croaker, spot or flounder with an equal amount of time spent live baiting for mighty cobia or trolling for striped bass, bluefish or spanish mackeral. For others it may mean an intimate sunset cruise topped off by a riverview dining experience in Yorktown.
York River's goal is to provide our guests the prospect of "having it their way" for a change. So come on down, kick off your sandals and let us show you, your loved ones and close friends what time on the rivah' is really all about!
The Captain
Y.R.C.® was founded by Captain Alan Alexander. Capt. Alexander grew up on the York River in the small fishing and farming community of Croaker, Virginia (Yes, it really was named after the delectable fish!). After serving as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy he returned to the area. He has since spent the majority of his life meandering the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries with the exception of time spent fishing and enjoying the marine offerings of North Carolina's Outer Banks.

You may want to learn a little of the rich history of the area and get an introduction to some of it's aquatic inhabitants by chartering a sightseeing or pleasure excursion. Or, you may prefer to troll for rockfish or cast for speckled trout. Either way your Captain's unique prospective and knowledge of the region are sure to give you reason to join us many times in the future and become yet another lifelong river friend.
