Fishing Charter Boat Nearest to Williamsburg
The Chesapeake Bay is known for both it’s beauty and it’s bounty. Our saltwater fishing charters and sightseeing boat tours are among the best outdoor adventure activities to be enjoyed near Colonial Williamsburg, Kingsmill Resort, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and Great Wolf Lodge in VA. York River Charters has been voted as one of the “Best Fishing Guide Company – Eastern Virginia” four times!
Our home port is York River Yacht Haven in Gloucester Point, VA. This makes us the fishing charter closest to those in Williamsburg, Virginia! In addition, we are the only charter fishing boat contracted to dock at scenic Wormley Creek Marina in historic Yorktown, VA. This provides our guests access to departure points on both the Peninsula, and the Middle Peninsula! During the late Fall Striped Bass Season we often move the boat to Norview Marina in the beautiful town of Deltaville near Virginia’s Northern Neck to get our guests closer to the schools of trophy Stripers migrating into the Upper Chesapeake Bay and the Rappahannock River. Our charters are also near Richmond, Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, Hampton, and Washington D.C.
If you would prefer an personalized outdoor adventure on the waters of Tidewater and Hampton Roads for just your family or group, versus being lumped on a boat with 20 or more other people you don’t know, we invite you to take advantage of our intimate private charters.

Virginia Saltwater Sport Fishing
The charter boat Catchin’ Up II presents our guests the opportunity to have a truly customizable trip on the Chesapeake Bay of VA. For you, this may mean tailoring a saltwater fishing charter combining some bottom fishing for croaker, spot or flounder with an equal amount of time spent sportfishing by live baiting for mighty cobia or shark, or trolling for trophy rockfish (stripers, striped bass), bluefish or Spanish mackerel near Virginia Beach. You might enjoy harvesting fine table fare such as tautog (blackfish), spadefish or sheepshead from artificial reefs, wrecks and other structure such as the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Some folks enjoy our sport fishing charters that target speckled trout, red drum (redfish) or salt water stripers (striped bass, rockfish) on light tackle by casting lures along the grass bottomed shoreline flats.
